On Sunday, 5 September 2010 we have scheduled an outage between 0100 and 0500 AEST. During this timeframe all services will be unavailable.

MYOB Business Web Hosting is committed to providing an excellent hosting platform. Part of this process requires upgrades to our infrastructure. In most cases we are able to perform these upgrades without interruption to the service.

In this case we are consolidating all data onto a newer Storage Solution. This will require a full shutdown.

Summary:
The mysql.myobnet.com (n3-mysql5-3) server requires a 20 minute outage to perform an upgrade. All sites using this server for dynamic content will be unavailable during this period.

Update 4:36 AEST:
The database server is up however there are some issues with innodb tables which technicians are looking to resolve.

Update 4:55 AEST:
Work is still progressing on the innodb issue. A solution has been identified and technicians hope to have the server back to full working order shortly.

Update 5:10 AEST:
The innodb issue has now been resolved and the MySQL database server is fully functional again.

Update: Tuesday, July 6 2010
In preparation for the Sunday upgrade we need a brief outage tonight. Between 2130 and 2230 AEST there will be a five minute outage.

Summary
We are upgrading our uplink to increase capacity to our Unified Platform. As part of this process we will be changing to a new Internet provider. This new provider will enable us to double the current throughput capacity.

This process will require a brief outage between 01:00 and 01:30 AEST. The actual outage should only be around five minutes.

Update: 15:08 AEST – Resolved
The issue with the uplink has been resolved and data flow is returning to normal parameters.

Update: 14:53 AEST
There is no change to the status at this stage.

Summary
We have observed high packet loss on one of our routers. This has led to a degradation of service on that uplink and may lead to connectivity issues for some customers.

Technicians are working with our uplink provider to resolve this issue.

Since resolving the data corruption server operation has now stabilized.

Technicians are working on some corrupted data that we believe led to the issues on the m4-mysql1-1 node.

The database server has been stable for the last hour. We will continue to monitor it closely.

Despite the node being stable all night it is currently showing intermittent issues again this morning. Technicians are working on it now.

Update 4:29pm
We are still not happy with the performance of the MySQL node. Technicians continue to work on it.

The node has been stable for a little while now. We’ll continue to monitor is before flagging this as resolved.

Some functionality has been returned but interruptions to the site are still intermittent.

This outage is anticipated to last no longer than 30 seconds, however a 5 minute window has been allocated during this window for additional maintenance.

An upstream provider, AusRegistry has scheduled an outage for 4 hours, between 8am to 12pm this Sunday the 21 March 2010.

This means that domain name registrations between this time will not be performed, and instead will be queued for processing once the maintenance has been completed.

Domain name registrations other then .AU will remain unaffected.
